Love and Logic Class
A new session of love and logic will begin Sunday mornings at 9:30 on April 3.  The class is being taught at Zion Lutheran Church.

Achievement Test
Achievement Tests will be held March 28-March 30.  Please make every effort to have your student in class.

Research Paper
We have started the Research Paper.  Topics were due today, Wednesday 23.  Monday, March 28, students need 6 sources of information for the paper.  Sources can be books, pamphlets, interviews, periodicals (magazines/newspapers) or credible internet sites.  Students need a total of six but a combination of at least two sources.  An example is 3 books, 2 pamphlets and 1 magazine article.  Copies of the sources can be brought in if the source cannot be checked out from the library.  Stay away from encyclopedia entries, and make sure the reading level of the source can be understood by your fourth grader.  A folder of information is going home with the students today.  Happy researching!

March Book Report
I am very excited for the fourth graders to share their storytelling with their peers.  Many of the students have been working very hard on voice inflections, motions, and different character traits.  Ask your student to be a preliminary audience before their big classroom debut.  Students have selected their date of performance.  Ask them about it.

Field Trip Chaperones
If you are interested in attending our Field Trip to the History Museum on Thursday, March 31, please send me an email.  Mrs. Nea has expressed interest and I have room for two more volunteers.  We will be taking a bus so you will not have to drive.  We will leave at 8:15 and return at 2:30.  You will need to bring a lunch.

Newsletter Spring Break Edition

Blessed Spring Break
I pray that everyone had a restful Spring Break.  I look forward to seeing the students on Monday.

Science Test
We will have Science Test on Tuesday, March 22.  There will not be a study guide for this test.  The three packets that were assigned throughout the chapter should be used as a study guide.  We will have a review day on Monday.

Resuming Spelling
After taking a break from Spelling Tests and packets we will resume this week.  I will assign the new Must Do for contracts on Wednesday.  Wednesday,  March 30, will be our Spelling Test with Contracts due the same day.  Monday, March 28, will be our pre-test date.

March Book Report
During the month of March students have been working on memorizing a children's story to present to the class at the end of the month.  Please ask your students about his or her story.  We will be working in class on storytelling techniques like pacing, voice inflection and volume.  We will also be talking about tips to memorize a story.
